Lovin' and lustin' in NYC

With Valentine's Day is less than a week away, love is in the air, junkies. Whether ya love it or hate it, whether you're going to spend it with your boo or with your squad, we've all got love -- or at least lust -- on the brain. We asked our NYC fam to dish on their best dates, their fave pickup lines and how they met their special someones.

"I met my boyfriend Jon on OK Cupid. I feel like that's uncool to admit but here I am, just being me! We exchanged a few short messages, and I thought he was pretty lame but noticed that he mentioned interest in the business. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but I was sure he didn't have a sense of humor. It was 10 p.m. by the time we met up for our date. It was a Tuesday. We smoked pot, went to a meatball shop, and had sex on our first date. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to do any of those things on a first date, but we really just had a blast. And 10 months later, we're still having a blast every single day."

“I would say my best date EVER was going to a trapeze class in Brooklyn with my ex. It was fun, scary, and exhilarating all at the same time.

“I once had a boy in Staten Island ask me to ‘step into his office for a minute,’ and I glanced over to an empty area in front of a Hot Topic. It was his cute way of asking to speak to me separately from my group of friends. Confidence is key!”

“The best date I ever went on was rollerblading up and down the Hudson River before crashing a Purdue college reunion party at the Boat Basin complete with jam band, open bar, and lobsters!”

“The best pickup line anyone used on me: ‘I love your crop top.’”

“I met my boyfriend through friends. Specifically, my roommate and his boss. My roomie convinced me to come out one night after my show, and he was there. We hit it off talking, dancing (boy's got moves), and kissing by the end of the night. He took me out to lunch for our first date and brought me flowers.

“I mean, I wouldn't say "best", cause most pickup lines are too cheesy and ridiculous to take seriously. But I did get one line, delivered so seriously it deserved applause. I worked at a gym and was checking a guest in. He spelled his last name for me so I could find it in the system, and then said, ‘Remember that name girl, cause someday it'll be yours.’”

“Though the guy I’m seeing is not directly connected to 305, I did meet him through 305 -- at the opening party for our 8th Street studio! #greatthingshappenonthedancefloor”

“Best pickup line anyone used on me was, ‘I've had a crush on you since the 5th grade,’ by a guy I'd never met before in my life."

“I met my husband online. Boom.”
