Here’s how to get where ya need to go!

 
 

 

GETTING TO DC ✈️🚗 

Our studio address is 1328 Florida Ave NW in Washington D.C.

Fly: check out flights to Reagan or Dulles. You will be able to commute via train/metro from Reagan into the city.

Drive: Nearby day parking is available for $20/day. Lot 727 - Union Row at 2125 14th St NW and Colonial Parking at 2421 18th NW are both walking distance to the studio.

Ride a train: check out Amtrak to Union Station. Union Station is a short uber/Lyft drive to the studio.

Take a bus: check out Megabus, Bolt or Greyhound.


ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE 🙋‍♀️👯‍♀️


Training will be Saturday & Sunday 8am - 6pm.

We encourage you to arrive on Friday evening in order to take a complimentary Master Class at 8:30PM. This Master class is optional and is located at our studio at 1328 Florida Ave NW.

If you’re unable to meet us on Friday, please be sure to arrive by Saturday, Feb 23 at 7:45am. We will start promptly at 8am on Saturday at 1328 Florida Ave NW. Our workshop ends Sunday, Feb 24 at 6pm.


WHERE TO STAY IN DC 😴

Getting a good night’s rest will be essential to your success! Be sure to pack earplugs, an eye mask, and anything else you may need so you can get the best nights of sleep on Friday and Saturday!

Hotel: we have secured a group rate for 305 instructors-training at the Comfort Inn Downtown, which is walking distance to the studio. Website: Comfort Inn Downtown DC Convention Center. Call (855) 214-4563 and mention 305 Fitness to unlock your discount. You may want to buddy up with someone from training (using our Facebook group) and share a room to save on accommodations.

Airbnb: we highly recommend booking on Airbnb for solo travelers on a budget. Click on this link to explore or follow these steps:

  • Search Airbnb for "Washington DC.”

  • Select your dates. Select how many guests (if solo traveler: 1 adult).

  • Then filter for "Entire Place" or "Private Room." 

  • You can filter for price.

  • You can view the options via “Map” view to estimate how far the airbnb will be from our studio. As a reference point, our studio is very close to Howard University and Logan Circle and Dupont Circle.

Will there be breaks?

We will waste no time in preparing you for success! Get ready for an intense training 8am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday. We will have 2 coffee breaks and a 1-hour lunch break both days. Snacks and water bottles are available. We recommend you pack a lunch and additional snacks.

What should I pack?

  • 2-4 sets of workout clothes (if you’d like to change during lunch)

  • 1 hoodie or sweatshirt

  • Socks and sneakers

  • Some make-up, hoops earrings, hats or any other accessories — we’ll have a photographer on site!

  • Room in your suitcase — 305 activewear will be available for purchase.

Who else will be there?
Meet your fellow instructors-in-training by requesting to join our Facebook Group: 305 Certification: Washington DC Weekend Warriors (Feb 23-24). This is a great place to also connect about accommodations if you’re looking to save money with a shared airbnb or hotel room.


Do you have showers?
Yes! We have a full-service locker room with showers and towels.

Can I buy 305Active apparel while I’m there?
Yes! Our front desk will be available to take your orders on Saturday at 4:45PM and on Sunday at 1:00PM. You will receive a 20% discount on all apparel and merch . We accept all credit cards. Apparel items range between $25 - $90. We also have a few Rebecca Minkoff x 305 bags still in stock. We’ve been saving them for ya!

Are there other goodies I should budget for?
Yes! We recommend you purchase:

  • LED lights: $36/light. Most dance studios will require between 3 -5 lights to fully transform a room. These are state-of-the-art, super powerful lights. They normally retail for $100+/fixture.

  • Gliding discs: $3.70/disc. These are awesome, powerful tools to help you better train your classes for LEGS and CORE days. We recommend you purchase 20-40 discs if your budget allows.They are a great investment in your future as a group exercise instructor.

  • Booty bands: $1.30/band. These are awesome, highly portable pieces of equipment that allow you to add an extra umph in your classes.

 

💃 THE "RULES" 💃

Can I take class at the studio before or after training?

If you’d like to get to D.C. before training or stay after, we will comp you 2 spots into any 305 Fitness class of your choosing for free. In addition, you may attend the Master Class on Friday evening (8:30pm) for free.


Can I arrive late or leave early?
Certification will be obtained by completing the entire weekend training course and passing the practical exam. If you have a scheduling conflict, please let us know ASAP at training@305fitness.com.

How do I know if I’m certified?
On the Sunday afternoon of the training weekend, all participants will undergo a 10-minute practical exam. You will be responsible for leading a small group through a choreography song and a toning routine with clear, confident cues. If you pass this practical exam, you will be immediately certified with the rights to use the 305 name. If you do not pass the practical exam, you are given a retest on Sunday and may also re-test through a video submission.


Can I bring someone?
Certification weekend is by invitation only. If you have friends who are interested, please have them apply. If you have children or others who you cannot leave at home, we recommend you find childcare at a nearby facility.

I can’t make it. Can I request a refund?
In certain cases, we may be able to issue a refund. You can request a refund by emailing us at training@305fitness.com.
