Courtney: Lady Liberty

When Courtney ditched her lifelong dream of becoming a pilot and fell in love with dancing, she also learned how to be flexible, go with the flow, and let life surprise her.

Today, Courtney has a joyful attitude towards life. She’s funky and free. Her full-bodied laugh lights up a room. She’s an old soul, with deep empathy and understanding. Her class is equally parts ass-kicking workout and funky, get-down realness. Go on witcha’ bad self.

We caught up with Courtney and got her to spill the tea on her crazy path to ((305)), her celeb obsession, and why she’s embracing her best life.

Welcome to the ((305)) fam, Courtney! First off, how do you wanna make people feel in your class?

Empowered - Free to be themselves and live their best lives and love themselves. Energized - Life is challenging and so is this class. But, we are here so make the best of it and get through it together. You will feel amazing afterwards. Sexy - You are beautiful just the way you are! This a safe haven for you to let your hair down and feel yourself!

Yaaassss! OK let’s throw it back a bit -- tell us about your childhood!

As a child, I was adventurous, fearless, and always wanted to be the first in doing everything. I grew up as a military brat, traveling the world and moving around every two to three years.

That’s amazing! Did you also want to be in the military?

In college, my plan for post-graduation was to become a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, but I failed the entrance exam. I was so devastated because that was my plan A. I didn't imagine myself doing anything else and, since that was the lifestyle I had grew up in, I thought it was only right that I continued that legacy. Looking back, I didn't do that for the right reason, and there was a reason that didn't work out.

So true! What would you say your life motto is?

“If you ain't doing what you love, it's only you to blame.” - Logic

I love how empowering and uncensored ((305)) is . . . everyone is encouraged to be themselves and strive to be the best version of THEMSELVES.

Ooh now for the juicy stuff! We all have a type -- what’s yours?

Since I'm so quiet, I love guys that are outspoken, super funny, well mannered and respectful. I don't have a certain body type.

Speaking of which, are you single, taken or it's complicated?

Single! I ended a six-year relationship a few months ago, so I've been enjoying and loving myself. I spent so many years wanting someone to love and treat me well, when in reality the only person I've ever needed love from was, me.

Preach! Your style in the 90s was all . . .

I was a youngin’ in the 90s. I recall wearing a lot of colored/patterned jumpsuits and Jordans!

A flamingo walks through the door right now wearing over-the-knee boots. What does she want and why is she here?

Ms. Flamingo wants to live her BEST LIFE! She came to show the fuck out and let us know what she is working with!

If this celeb took your class, you’d totally DIE . . .

Oprah Winfrey! I would just fall completely out... just out... goodness lol

When you're not teaching at ((305)), we can find you . . .

You can find me at a hot yoga or aerial class, trying out a new restaurant, or at home snuggled up in my favorite blanket indulging in the Atlanta Housewives and /or Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Last one -- why do you love ((305))?

I love how empowering and uncensored ((305)) is, everyone is encouraged to be themselves and strive to be the best version of THEMSELVES. We are not transforming anyone here! We are not just about dance and music . . . WE are LEADERS. I'm enjoying this journey so far and look forward to more growth and progression with ((305)).
