Top Fitness and Wellness Trends for 2019
Junkies, we’re already one week into 2019 -- how are those resolutions coming along? Ya know it’s never too late to jump on those #goalz!
Bored of the same ol’ “hit the treadmill and eat yo veggies”? Girl, same. That’s why we LIVE for the latest and greatest in all things fitness.
We’re breaking down our five fave fitness trends that you’ll be seeing everywhere throughout the next year. From oatmilk obsessions to HIIT-mania, these trends will give you LYFE in 2019.
THE RI-RI EFFECT
Thanks to Rihanna and her Fenty *magic*, more athletic brands are getting real about sizing and body-inclusivity. Our girl makes inclusivity and diversity feel downright badass, and the athleisure apparel industry is taking notice. Major brands like Nike and Fabletics now have size-inclusive lines, with many more slated to be launched in the next year.
U UP, CORTISOL?
There’s a growing realization that long AF workouts aren’t always better, especially when they trigger a wave of cortisol. This is the stress hormone that sends your body into fight-or-flight mode -- it slows your metabolism and your bodily functions. Yikes! To avoid this, health experts recommend adapting their workout schedules by mixing in low-intensity workouts (like ((305)) FLEX) in with your standard HIIT workouts.
WEAR YOUR HEART (MONITOR) ON YOUR SLEEVE
This ain’t your mama’s heart monitor! From smart watches to fitness trackers, wearable technology is helping everyday people track their health and well-being on a TON of different levels. Need encouragement to get through a tough sprint section or want feedback on your sleep? There’s a wearable for ya!
THE OATMILK OBSESSION
Oatmilk is the hottest non-dairy substitute to hit your coffee in years and for a ton of good reasons. It has more protein than other nut milks (but less than soy milk or actual milk) and more fiber than any of them. It also doesn’t have a nutty taste and is super frothy, meaning that it’ll make your PSL *pop*. But it’s also only a matter of time before the dairy alternative becomes the starring ingredient in alt-yogurts and “nice creams.”
HIIT ME UP, BABY
At ((305)), we’re not stranger to HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts. Uh hello, our signature ((305)) CARDIO class is basically one big dance cardio HIIT party! HIIT packs a seriously effective punch in a short amount of time, and there’s a whole lot to love about that. Expect HIIT workouts to continue to play a huge role in the fitness industry in the next year.
